My name is Chan Him M. I am an entrepreneur studies PhD in
intercultural theory Cardiff University. I am a citizen of Hong Kong, who has
been living, studying and working in the UK since I was 17. As tension rises
between Hong Kong Movement Umbrella - Occupy Central - and the government, I
feel it is time to write.
As the experience of growing up in mainland China, Hong Kong and the UK, they have never been fully recognized by any of them.
I'm not Mainlanders as I keep Hong Kong citizenship. I am not suitable Hong Longer or had experience growing up on the continent, and for many that means I'm somewhat brainwashed. I'm not British, even though I've lived in this country for nearly 10 years and can speak English fluently.

Fundamentally I will always be regarded as an outsider, at least for a long, long time.
But as an outsider, maybe I can see the big picture in a more objective way. I'm not brainwashed by every "ism" because I do not believe that there is only one supreme "ism" that is suitable for all human civilization.
So who am I representing here? I am myself representing a citizen of Hong Kong rather hybrid experience. I am not choosing each country. What I believe and what I hope is a movement for democracy, which we all hope for. What I believe in is not who will "win" the battle at the end, but rather, how we can move things forward.
However, if you think what you think now is the absolute truth and right, then you can stop reading this letter (maybe you've already done). Absolute answer to mind now is the determination of one's actions.
Below are some pretty naive proposals to each side of the event.
Although not changed my Face book picture to a yellow ribbon or umbrella, I am looking for progress protest every day, and my heart beat with my home - regardless of whether people in the country to recognize this heartbeat.
