Calculate rotten employability and social welfare

Employability must be seen as a concept that is outside the bubble of economic growth. Higher education should be guided by the labor market and the needs of society. Higher education is a human right and as such, it must be accessible to all.

European Students' Union, or ESU, recommended our society come together on the development of higher education. There is not just one organization responsible for the global development of higher education. ESU sees the development of higher education as a puzzle to be completed only when everyone gives their best, impartial contributions.

Consensus

Current trends in higher education have opened debate on the future of higher education should be based on a deep discussion of the values and priorities of the society in which we live.

In order to achieve consensus and objective view, it is extremely important to focus on cooperation among all stakeholders, instead of debates on which it is competent to talk about higher education and who is not.

ESU believes that higher education is a public good and a public responsibility. Therefore, everyone should have a say in what kind of society they want to build and what kind of higher education, they want to acquire.

Students and student representatives are key actors in the field of higher education and contribute significantly to the reform of local, national and international level.

At European level, ESU unites 13.5 million students, represented by 47 national organizations of students from 39 countries. These students born policies and projects and decide on future steps in the development of higher education.

Student Progress employability of graduates, or SAGE, is one of the projects ESU is contributing to the development of employment policies and advocates independent research and development of teaching and learning in higher education.

Through research activities of the project, one of them study and research of graduate employability in Europe will be published in the fall of 2013. This study makes a clear distinction between employment and employment.

Employability is defined as a process of learning and achievements and potential graduate to acquire the work, making sure that the concept is not to be confused with the actual acquisition of work - although the concept and the environment are highly interdependent.
